Bill, List, I would suspect that a underlying reason for your non-interest is the alienation you have tended to create with several folks rather than just a technical issue. That alone would tend to make one feel very uncomfortable trying to fellowship with those whom have been spoken of poorly. Let's face it. Why would anyone want to hang out with people they don't respect. Your being "not interested" equates to me in not wanting to hang out with folks who might not have taken kindly to your comments over the years. Not that it isn't your prerogative by all means. Carry on, friend. On the other hand I know the caliber of the people who do make the conventions happen to be of such a nature that they welcome open-handed all comers to the convention, even those who haven't been around for awhile, even those who seem, for one reason or another, to have a penchant for criticizing the way things aren't, and all the other myriad of reasons that arise. The people who make such events happen are the heart and soul of the Piano Technicians Guild, and thank God for their presence in our profession. They are the true spirit of fraternity expressed visibly for all who are interested to have the opportunity to experience and share in the fruits of their labor.
