Terry,

Sorry to hear about your car problems. I was looking forward to meeting you; well, we'll connect at the next one. Side note: your car sounds like some of the pianos I encounter - deferred maintenance, value after repairs lower than cost of repairs....

regards,

Mike

> If I hadn't beat my chest so loudly a few days back about the terrible technicians that rarely or never go to PTG conventions, I would not post this. But because I did, I will post and say that, unfortunately, I will not be going to Chicago as I had originally planned (and registered for and reserved a hotel room).

> Excuse #11: I was planning of driving my 1983 Mercedes sedan from Florida to Chicago. I took it to my mechanic Monday, and he indicated that there appeared to be a bit of "deferred maintenance" due. Repair estimate: $7,000. Car value fixed: maybe $4,000. Result: junk the heap - I gave him the title. I now have no car and have the immediate need to spend thousands of dollars I simply do not have.

> What a bummer. I was really looking forward to the convention. I have already checked out the North Carolina Regional Conference in October in Atlanta. I figure I should have my act together by then.
