What kind of piano is this?  It could be a broken rep spring, (or one that is 
out of the grub), if the action had thread loops, one of them could be 
broken,  I have even seen this happen when a backcheck leather finally wore 
in two and one of the pieces captured the hammer below the point where the 
action could reset. I have also seen this when the rep lever post had come 
unglued. 
   What kind of piano?
