I remember one like this, in a church. There was a pile of powdered
iron scrapings under the pedal, and the pin was way over to the side.
The hole was huge and egg-shaped. As a stop-gap measure, I put
the pin more or less in place, and packed the hole (crater?) with
5-minute epoxy, cleaning up the extra quickly. I probably put
fresh balance rail punchings over the pins and packed them
with VJ lube while reassembling. (I usually do this ...)
I came back five years later, and it was still fine.

I suppose this might work for other people as well, if they're
careful to get the epoxy the right place and nowhere else, and if
they get it assembled and cleaned up in time.
