Hi Clair,

The seminars are part of what is called STEP (Steinway Technical =
Education Program) There are four. Comprehensive Piano Service, Dampers, =
Tone Building, and Concert Preparation. The current cost is $850 for =
each seminar (to cover hotels etc). Steinway makes the hotel =
arrangements for you. You are on your own for travel to and from NYC.

I am scheduled to attend my second - the dampers class in August. It's a =
great experience. You really learn alot and just visiting the factory =
and seeing the pianos built is fantastic.

Contact John Patton at Steinway for more info. I think you have to =
either work for a dealer or an institution that has a few of their =
pianos.

  Hi--
I've waited a bit on this thread, but no one has asked and everyone
seems to know about them (except me :)
What are the Steinway Seminars, and do you have to be a dealer? What
do they cover? How much do they cost? Where does one stay? etc.
  Thanks anyone!

  Cheers,
  Clair
