removing plate

Willem,
     I used an inexpensive "come-a-long" (spelling?) to remove the last plate 
in my grand piano. I hooked one end to a ceiling joist and the other to the 
plate staps and cranked it out approx. 1/2" per crank. Much easier than my 
three pully system that I used for many years.  Easy as pie. I borrowed this 
one .
