I use mine every day and I just love it! I have not used very many tuning levers, so I don't know that I speak with so much authority. I tuned for a year or so with a nylon extension hammer that I bought used. I went to the North Carolina RC in perhaps '99 (or maybe '98) and won a door prize at the banquet dinner - my Renner tuning lever. I think they are all similar. Mine has a lightweight metal shaft and a fancy wooden handle that terminates into a ball-like configuration. It is very comfortable. I use it for both verticals and grands. I carry a wide selection of tips and extensions for those odd situations. One thing that surprises me is that even when using a tall extension, the lever is very stable and does not want to fall off the tuning pin - don't know if other levers behave the same way or not. Bottom line: seems to be an excellent tuning lever - plan on using it for as long as I need to pay the mortgage (assuming rebuilding does not take care of that completely for me!) - but never would have bought one (just too expensive for my blood!) if I had not won it (although in retrospect, it would have been a good value)!
