Regulating Grand Jacks

Also on this 1973 Kimball Grand, I have the problem of jacks being out =
of alignment with the hammer knuckles (I think).  When played hard, the =
hammers loose so much power that they do not even reach the strings.  =
When played softly, they seem fine and the repetition is fine as well.  =
Assuming that the jacks are not aligned with the knuckles once I pull =
out the action and look, is there any reason not to regulate the back =
edge of the jacks to the back edge of the wood core of the knuckles =
without first doing any other part of the regulation sequence?
