Or just go to the Yamaha web site, look under used pianos or "how old is my piano", type in the serial number. What happens in North America follows: If you get a year of manufacture, your Yamaha was built for the American market. If your computer freezes up, starts smoking, and two men arrive in a moving truck, dressed in black wearing dark sunglasses knock at your door and ask to look at your piano - it is a grey market piano.
