Hi Bradley, Yes they can be more controlled by measuring each note's pitch deviation. Yes, there is a difference in compensation ( a better word than overpull I think ) That is why it is set as a percentage of the pitch difference. Yes location in the instrument makes a difference with the mid treble requiring the compensation.
