Hi Hazen. Try three of theese http://www.clasohlson.se/images/products/S/hi/B/HD3_306948_h i_S.jpg I dont know the english name for them, but three of them placed around the plate, two in the front where the pinblock is and one at the other end, works great. If you have some sort of lift, gently lift it alittle. Look where the plate first lifts from the soundboard and compensate it on the others so you get the plate leveled. Then you just lift it all the way up. Do the same when you are placing it back in the piano. I've tried thin cloth around where theres little room between the rim and the cast iron. When its almost completly down, remove the cloth.
