Phil:
     If you are going to refinish in wood tones and clear finish, I'm afraid 
you might be asking for a lot of trouble removing the paint. Why don't you 
just RE-PAINT the thing and forget it. I'm afraid if you scrape it, you'll 
really be asking for trouble. Paint it Yeller!!!
