time warp. OT

Hi all,

Actually if the sender's and recipient's computer settings are correct, the
date stamps will appear as local time for both parties, even if they're in
different time zones. The reason is that the time/date stamp includes time
zone information, and the computers automatically make the translation
(depending on which time zone is specified during the setup of the operating
system). In Windows, if you right-click on the clock in the bottom right
corner of your screen, select "adjust date and time," and click on the time
zone tab, you can correct your settings.

NOW, here's something I'm having trouble figuring out: I'm also trying to
keep my BSD UNIX box on the right time. I have it automatically sync to
time-a.nist.gov on boot. However, apparently the environment isn't set up
to do the daylight savings time switch. That is, the UNIX box remains on
standard time. I'm relatively new to UNIX. Anybody know how to fix this
problem??? (Thanks!)

Peace,
Sarah
