In every gray market piano I've seen, there is a plastic service record holder inside, tacked to the back of the front board on verticals and on the straight side of the rim on grands. Quite often, the model designation is one you don't find in US market pianos, like C7A, G3A, YUX, etc. ...iffn you don't happen to have a computer in your back pocket. ;-) Tom Cole Farrell wrote: > Go to: http://www.yamaha.com/pianoserials/index.asp Type in the instrument's serial number and you will get a reply in a few seconds. > > Terry Farrell > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Wesley Hardman" <hardman@hiwaay.net> > To: "Pianotech" <pianotech@ptg.org> > Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2003 9:51 PM > Subject: Gray Market Pianos > > How do you identify a "gray market" Yamaha piano? > > Wesley Hardman, Scottsboro, Alabama > > _______________________________________________ > pianotech list info: https://www.moypiano.com/resources/#archives
