Ron's comments seem to make sense...don't they? :-) My thoughts on casters on a performance piano that will be moved around a lot are close to Ron's with the following thoughts: 1. The 'speed' at which the thingee is moved is geometrically proportional to the ease of movement of any three legged instrument 2. Given the proper conditions any leg mounted caster set in sockets or cast iron thingees will: a. Tear the strongest braced leg right off the paino., b. Failing to break the leg off, the caster will tear out the side of the lower leg where that cast iron socket will be in good shape lying on the floor right next to that leg which has had the caster/socket..... torn out the side..... of the bottom....... of the leg. But hey go for it, maybe physics and stage personnel have changed dramatically in the past few years and the ole "stage trucks" are no longer needed! :-) Jim Bryant (FL)
