---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment I'm trying to help a friend, who bought a piano he shouldn't have. The Beast: Chickering 123, 1911. A real mess. Needs everything and more, and I don't see how we can do anything short of a complete rebuild, which I don't think can be justified economically. We would like to get this action functioning for him. I have recommended that he keep the cost to the absolute minimum. It has brass hammer flanges, metal (horizontal) wippen flanges. Is anyone by any chance junking one of these out, or has a barrel-o-wippens they would like to sell? Almost half of the wippens have been replaced with ones that don't work, and the rest have had their spring adjustment screws removed. I don't know why. Even 35 used wippens (with flanges) would help, a set would be better. Private replies ok. Thanks much.
