If I read correctly, the laminations are set up in the horizontal plane. Why would you not set up the laminations in the vertical plane. It would seem that this would increase the stiffness of the rib and thereby allow you to use a smaller rib, i.e., less mass. Would that not be better. David Love davidlovepianos@earthlink.net
