I just happened to do a bunch of hammer felts on my first two pianos today (Melodigrand Tom Thumb spinet and a 1970s Baldwin spinet)! On the felts that have popped loose, I usually give them a little tug and apply a little leverage to make sure the other side is attached well - if it is going to pop off, it is easier to just take the whole felt off, apply the glue, and clamp the felt to the moulding.
