Esteemed Colleagues:

I looked at a Samick grand today that had some kind of fake suede=
 on the music desk (the horizontal part where the music stands, I=
 guess it's there to keep the music from slipping off).  The=
 "furry" stuff was flaking off as the pianist turned pages.  It=
 was beginning to look pretty bad.  So:

1 - What is this stuff?
2 - Can it be removed easily?
3 - What could be used to replace it?
