All,
I've been on a quest to find an appropriate Pin Driving Fluid. The stuff I
have been using for many years, came from Rodda Paint. The recently
discontinued stocking it! So, the "quest".
I've been doing some testing of "Phenolic Resins", from various suppliers.
The most recent tests are really weird. Using a piece of Delignet Pin Block
Material, 2/0 tuning pins and various drill sizes, (my usual drill size for
Delignet is 6.8mm). Here's the results, of the most recent tests:
Material: Delignet Tuning Pin: 2/0, (.282" exact) Drilling Speed: 700 rpm
(air cooled)
Initial reading: 115 inch pounds
After 24 hours: 80 inch pounds
After 48 hours: 75 inch pounds
After 2 weeks: 150 inch pounds!!!!!!
I must say that Shop Temp/Humidity have been constant. (Yes, I do have
gauges to verify that!)
Something strange is afoot!
Any thoughts? (of course you do! Silly me!<G>
Best Regards,
