The three legged gage type with a solid pin at one end, one in the middle, and the dial at the other end can get pretty close to giving you meaningful measurements with the two legs on the speaking or rear duplex and the dial plunger on the bridge segment. Wrapped strings are a problem with these though. Bubble is better. Ron N
