And even if it did, the effect is still real, and the numbers are scary - 
if I did it right. A 400mm speaking length of #17 wire tuned at 440cps is 
at about 168.5 lbs of tension. Add 0.03mm (0.0011") to that speaking length 
and the tension drops over 2.5 lbs, dropping pitch to 437.

It doesn't take much movement to make a big difference, and that's not 
strings stretching over time.
