Diagnose This! (A puzzler)

That's the one. It didn't move the jack because of the problem. The
answer has already been posted, keep reading your mail. Thanks for
entering our swell contest. You aren't a winner, but here's a copy of

Alan,

Which regulating screw are you talking about? I'm referring to the one
which moves the jack forward or back, depending on where it needs to be
in relation to the knuckle core wood.
