Calin, There has been much previous discussion about using bone (from cows) as a keytop covering material. This is an alternative to plastic much closer to ivory. Try searching the archives for the word 'bone'. https://www.moypiano.com/ptg/pianotech Scott Jackson Australia ----- Original Message ----- From: "Calin Tantareanu" <dnu@fx.ro> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Friday, July 18, 2003 5:23 AM Subject: Keytop material? | Hello! | | I was wondering what material are you using for replacing keytops? | I tried some plastic molded ones and they look like... plastic. | Are there better alternatives? Something that doesn't have the plastic look, | more like ivory. | What are the piano factories using nowadays? | | | | Calin Tantareanu | ---------------------------------------------------- | http://calintantareanu.tripod.com | ----------------------------------------------------
