Univ. at Edwardsville, outstanding cellist and all around nice guy) publically described the sound of the harpsichord thusly: "Marbles dropping through bedsprings." Sir Thomas Beecham had two descriptions for the sound of the Harpsichord:- 1) Poking at a birdcage with a toasting fork. 2) Skeletons copulating on a corrugated iron roof.
