Jim Parker's advice on virus hoax

Jim - could you please elaborate on "most recent restore point" ?   I just
got XP after my old system was trashed by a real virus, so I rushed to
delete the teddy bear & emptied the Norton recycle bin.  I've downloaded
Java, but don't know what to do with it.

Windows did not buy a license from Sun for xp to have java. With xp you
