Checked lengths on my (factory) L. Measured from center to end of shank and subtracted 3.8 mm to approximate half the molding thickness (since some moldings are angled, then sanded down on the checked side it was hard to figure where the "center" of the molding is). Looks like a very slight decreasing tendency, if you use your imagination. note mm 1 130.2 6 130.6 11 130.4 16 128.8 21 131.3 26 130.8 27 130.8 32 130.3 37 130.1 42 130.5 47 130.6 52 130.8 54 130.6 55 130.5 60 129.8 65 129.9 70 130.2 71 130.4 72 130.5 77 129.3 82 129.5 87 129.2 88 129.0 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Brekne" <Richard.Brekne@grieg.uib.no> To: "PTG" <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 2003 9:51 AM Subject: Shank Lengths for Steinway L > Hi folks. > > Any of you folks out there with experience dealing with the L model... > is there some specification for shank lengths for this model that calls > for different lengths for different sections ? > > Thanks > RicB > > -- > Richard Brekne > RPT, N.P.T.F. > UiB, Bergen, Norway > mailto:rbrekne@broadpark.no > http://home.broadpark.no/~rbrekne/ricmain.html > http://www.hf.uib.no/grieg/personer/cv_RB.html > > > _______________________________________________ > pianotech list info: https://www.moypiano.com/resources/#archives
