This does bring up a good point. I've worked with several pianists over the
years who complained about their pianos not being "loud" enough who were
simply losing part of their hearing abilities. Some tend to become upset at
the suggestion that they get their hearing checked but it does have to be
said.

Perhaps it should be part of the annual physical music educators go
through.
