key bushing removal- choice of glue

Tom, Hot hide glue doesn't expand.  It shrinks.  Did you ever leave some =
glue in the pot after turning off the heat for a month or two?  That may =
be a good thing.  Gives just a little clearance for the center and front =
pins.  I see what you mean though. It will flow to fill the space.

  Yes, but PVC-E glue does not have the ability to size the mortise as =
it sets up. Hide glue, as it dries, jells and expands up to the size of =
the caul making it very useful with older keys.
  Of course if sizing is not an issue and keys mortises are too expanded =
then PVC-E would work equally well.
