Someone gave me a spray gun a few years ago, that sprays metal. An air 
hose,  an electric arc, and a roll of what ever sort of wire you want, and 
all sorts of things can be metalized. Plates were one of the first things I 
thought of, but I haven't gotten around to playing with the thing yet.
