When I shopped for a vertical piano a few years ago, I really enjoyed the Schulze-Pollmann. I ended up getting the M&H because I liked the deeper bass, but it was a tough call. The Schulze Pollmann I think is an amazing value. You basically get the advantages of a German piano but without the price that results from the exchange rate with German products. The treble sings beautifully and the cabinet work is exceptional. Also seriously consider the Fandrich. If you want to spend a little less, consider the Charles Walter. People told me if I could at all afford it, I should get a grand. I don't regret not getting a grand. A high quality vertical can have a good enough action that you aren't really missing any performance. Charles Neuman PTG Assoc, Long Island
