Not to mention the wrists.  I've been using just what you suggest since my 
carpal tunnel surgeries in '87.

Use an RCT or ETD of your choice.  Less wear and tear on ears, mind and 
hand/wrist/arm/shoulder.

10 pianos/10 hours last spring... (after work starting @1500)  I did 3 or 4 
at work(school), so I guess 13/14 for one day. Slept in next day(Sat)
