 From 1795 to c1830, an instrument called the Orphica (a 3 to 3 1/2 octave 
piano at 4'pitch) was made which could be slung over shoulder and played 
while standing. It had half sized keys and became known       as the 
"Weekend" piano  - made by Rollig in Vienna.


Shrine to Music Museum in Vermillion, SD has one.  Neat little thing, but 
no MIDI.
