Short version: 1. Mike the piano/make sure pianist has a monitor "right in his/her ear"! 2. Check terminations for proper shape and smoothness. 3. Check hammer "shape"/condition. 4. Check for proper regulation. (with possibly let-off at 3/16" to 1/4") 5. Have a chat with the "Sound Man" in regard to volumes of other players, and his controll over that. (A thought also: Make sure the piano is Miked properly, with the very best Microphone they have available). 5. Check after-touch. (if it is "normal", make it less, so the pianist has a "truck" feel. <G> Makes em' work harder and tires them out quicker!<G> Just a few thoughts.
