Why does Steinway use pine ribs?
It's a mystery.

What do the rest of you use? Do you ever use pine in one part of the =
scale and spruce in another?

We use Sitka spruce.
No.
But, it's no mystery. It's what we have available.

Do you use a tighter radius on the short ribs?

Yes.
