Bechstein Soundboard replacement

Hi, all Bechsteins I've seen here which are ex-Europe have the soundboard
buttons and screws in the soundboard

Rationality aside, my understanding (absorbed long ago from I where I
can't recall) was that this was Bechstein's  modification for pianos
being sent outside Europe (ie the nasty old USA). What do the Europeans
say -- do you have top soundboard buttons on Bechsteins over there?
