Hello list
I use a TLS tuning set - but I only use it to help set one octave. I check
with M3 at the first opportunity, then M4 & M5. When I have set that one
octave I check the speed/sound of the M3s throughout and rectify as
required. Then I tune the rest of the piano/Harpsichord by ear checking all
along with M3,M4,M5,8ves,M10 etc down to the bottom. Start again at middle
and work to the top adding M17 to my list of "invisible tools". The whole
process takes about 50minutes in a private residence and 30/45minutes in
schools where they are tuned 3 times a year. >>So do you all use EDTs
throughout? Perish the thought! << Markee Jim lad, I do ideally need quiet
environment. Pitch raising up to a semi-tone takes about 90mins and includes
fine tuning, return in six months.
