One other thing to check for Terry, look at the lower tenor stings behind the bridge... sometimes there is an unwanted contact between the backlength of the string and the plate. I ran into a Becstein recently with this exact problem. You could also have just one narrow notch somewhere, and the string is just barely in contact with the side of the notch.
