Hear him! Hear him!
Which is why you can take all the Bass strings off a piano to replace them.
And why it is that even though the "metals" (treble strings) go horribly out
of tune the Bass strings are frequently un-affected.
But I still don't know why I go to the Bass end first - just habit I
guess...
