Yes, you have it! As to why it isn't used more often, I'd like to know the answer to that as well. Maybe it's because the traditional lever has been getting the job done for 300 years. Has anyone tried the impact hammer for more than 6 months and then switched back to a traditional lever? The technique is certainly different than the traditional lever so maybe it's simply a matter of staying with what you are used to.
