And for whatever reason, here in the US, most folks call a tuning lever =
a tuning hammer!

Most of the "original" tuning "wrenches" were "T" "Wrenches". I have two,
Hale, circa 1903. The "handle is made of Rosewood and the end are solid
steel, (about 1" of each tip). I can only assume that the intent was to use
the "Hammer" part for, quickly, hammering a tuning pin in, in the tuning
process. Hence the name "Tuning Hammer". Tuning Wrench
sounds....so....greasy thumb Mechanic, don't you think?<G>
