List, Does anybody have a formula for determining the longitudinal mode frequencies of a wound piano string? I just re-read Conklin's article at the "Five Lectures..." site, and listened to the demos. I'd like to learn more about how string scales are calculated to avoid longitudinal mode problems. Conklin mentions his 1970 patent, but doesn't give a patent number. Anybody have more info on this? thanks Michael Spalding spalding48@earthlink.net
