Patrick,
Because the Emil Fries School is close at hand, I've had the opportunity to
observe Blind Techs and the way they navigate their way around a piano. The
techniques are not difficult to learn. Lighting is more often than not
detrimental rather than helpful. Learn to work without it. An example: when
trying to locate the flange screw, on an upright butt, close your eyes and
"image" it in your mind. You'll be amazed at how easy this really is!<G>
