Using West system epoxy as a "shim" undersizing
large Tuning pin holes. Was #6 pins. Did a test. Feels
tight, not as ideal as I would like but tight.

How permanent a repair is this type of thing?
Will the epoxy repair polish, ware, and fail?

Client is willing to pay for an upright pin block
if I insist. Its an old piano, some soundboard screws.

I am wondering about the cost/reward on the pin
block, looking for judgement on the longevity of epoxy
repair.
Its getting string, hammers, bushings, action
overhaul.

This test repair was done by plugging with #2 pin
and epoxy, removing the pin, and using #5. Its tight.

Tempted to try again, mixing in some fibber
saved from grinding Bolduc's maple blocks. This
might improve the feel.

So, do you still vote for the block?
Do some consider the epoxy permanent, or liable
to fail? Only done upright pin block twice
but with a new board and bridge.
