So to be sure to have the correct sized tuning pin with me when I =

  I think the best answer is that when strings break, install the new =
one with a longer tuning pin, or simply use an oversized pin and don't =
drive it down as far.  It's not ideal, as the pin will be more flexible, =
but at least it will allow a better coil and departure angle.
