Naw. No comparison. "Normal" shopping is done after hours. "Normal service calls are done during "normal business hours" - whatever they may be. I, like most techs, schedule grouped service calls for a given area on a common day. Assuming I am busy, anything that deviates from that gets a premium added to it (usually a lump sum plus travel time). Now at times in the past I have found myself a bit desperate for cash - when that has occurred, I have chosen to do a job at an odd time at the normal fee - but only because I feel I can't afford to loose the job. And of course, I, like many techs, rarely do what they say. I am busy as sin currently. However, yesterday (yes, SUNDAY, JULY 4th) I tuned a piano downtown for a fee less than my normal tuning fee. This was however my #1 volume client and the situation was a special need that could only be address at that time.
