Chickering ( Brothers) Flanges. Acoustigrand info wanted......

I had an Acoustigrand Welte reproducer once. Gorgeous
sounding little piano! My understanding is that
"Chickering Brothers" was formed after some sort of
small family rift with the Boston Chickerings. 
     Anyone out there know more???
