Hi Don,
The plain wire low tenor strings are typically at a much lower break%, and 
go out of tune farther for a given tension change. Wrapped strings at a 
higher break% down there are much less reactive. They are also in an area 
of the board that DOES change crown height more than the treble. 
Interestingly, the low tenor changes more than the math of the bridge pin 
angle, bridge height, and soundboard crown height account for, so more is 
happening here than is being covered by our simple speculations.
