This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Yes, (sigh), CA Glue does permeate/swell the wood! However, just the = simple fact that the wood swells is not enough to make the joint solid. = Yes, I have had failures with CA, hence my reluctance to use it for = action part repair(s). Plus, it's not the proper way to do it, IMO. The = failures I experienced were due to shear stress factors. CA will not = work well in these instances. Proven fact. Even the manufacturers of the = stuff agree on this. As for CA messing up a glue joint with some other = glue is still unproven. The combination of White glue and CA has been = used by many. The moisture in the White glue "sets" the CA. As for = TiteBond, I suspect the same applies. However, if the TiteBond, (or hide = glue, for that matter), is already set, then I don't think the CA is = going to have any affect on it. The jury is still out on that one.<G> Best Regards, Joe Garrett, R.P.T. Captain, Tool Police Squares R I ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
