making key bushing cauls

Hi Ron,
Its rather slow but I use a kitchen knife blade ground down to just narrow
of the width of the button hole. The reason for the knife is that the glue
does not set up as quickly esp in 40 degree weather like now in Idaho. The
glue is placed on the wood, not the felt like others do. So there usually is
no cross contamination of glue on the working side of the felt. There
sometimes is dripping glue that gets on the top of the bushing and must be
wiped off before putting the felt in place. I do not use a knife or other
blade to cut the cloth but trim withmy flush cutters that are also used for
cutting centerpins.
One side is done at a time so that the glue is set prior to the second
round.
There is little or no waste of felt.
